Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment. This role is key to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site electrical systems and equipment.
You will play a vital role in delivering planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment uptime and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and site equipment
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in a timely manner
Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical drawings
Maintain and repair a range of industrial equipment including:
Overhead cranes and jibs
Plasma and gas cutting machinery
Sawing and drilling equipment
Welding and grinding equipment
Forklifts and sideloaders
Perform mechanical tasks such as bearing and gear replacement
Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures and site standards
Work independently when required, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
Coordinate and oversee subcontractor activities where necessary
Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the siteSkills & Experience
Time-served electrical engineering background in a maintenance environment
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
Experience maintaining industrial machinery and plant equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong awareness of Health & Safety compliance
