A growing general building contractor based in Bury is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

With an annual turnover of approximately £4 million and individual project values up to £600k, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a varied portfolio of construction projects across the region.

The Role

You will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the directors and operational teams.

Key responsibilities include:

* Preparing cost plans, valuations, and final accounts

* Managing subcontractor procurement and payments

* Cost reporting and budget control

* Variations and contract administration

* Supporting project delivery teams commercially

* Liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors

* Ensuring projects remain commercially viable and profitable

Requirements

* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or general building environment

* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

* Experience with projects up to £600k preferred

* Self-motivated with a hands-on approach

* Degree qualified or equivalent experience considered

Package

* Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
