Site Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major earthworks project based in Milton Keynes. This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering an immediate start and a strong pipeline of work.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all setting out and engineering duties across a live earthworks package, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Setting out for earthworks and associated civils works

* QA checks and as-built surveys

* Managing cut/fill operations and volume calculations

* Interpreting technical drawings and specifications

* Coordinating with site management and subcontractors

* Maintaining site records and health & safety standards

Requirements

* Proven experience working on earthworks or heavy civils schemes

* Competent using GPS and robotic total station equipment

* Strong understanding of bulk earthworks operations

* CSCS card essential

* SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial

* Able to work independently and manage daily engineering activities

Contract Details

* Location: Milton Keynes

* Duration: 6 Months

* Start Date: ASAP

* Rate: £300 – £350 per day DOE
