Senior Design Manager – MOD & MOJ Projects

We are currently working with a Tier 1 contractor seeking experienced Design managers to join their growing construction team delivering high-profile MOD and MOJ projects across the Northwest.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual with a strong background in managing complex, high-value projects within secure and regulated environments.

The Role

Leading and managing the full design process from pre-construction through to project completion
Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, and subcontractors
Driving design strategy, programme management, and technical compliance
Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout the project life cycle
Ensuring all design meet MOD/MOJ standards, regulations, and security requirements
Supporting operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
Mentoring and supporting junior Design Manager within the business

Requirements

Proven experience in a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager position
Background delivering MOD, MOJ, defence, custodial, healthcare, or other complex projects
Strong technical construction knowledge and commercial awareness
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work streams effectively
Relevant construction or design qualification preferred
