BIM Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced BIM Technician to join a leading M&E Engineering company supporting works on the HS2 project in Birmingham. Based out of our London office, the successful candidate will play a key role in the production, coordination, and management of BIM models and technical drawings for large-scale infrastructure and rail projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure projects within a fast-paced and collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

Produce and develop coordinated 3D BIM models for mechanical and electrical building services
Create detailed technical drawings and layouts using Revit and AutoCAD
Support project teams with BIM coordination and clash detection processes
Work closely with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure accurate model delivery
Ensure BIM deliverables meet project specifications, client standards, and HS2 requirements
Participate in design reviews and coordination meetings
Maintain accurate model documentation and drawing registers
Assist with model updates throughout project lifecycle stages
Ensure compliance with BIM Level 2 standards and company procedures

Requirements

Proven experience working as a BIM Technician within M&E Building Services
Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD
Experience working on large-scale construction, rail, infrastructure, or commercial projects
Understanding of BIM workflows, standards, and coordination processes
Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

Desirable

Previous HS2, rail, or infrastructure project experience
Navisworks experience for clash detection and coordination
Understanding of BIM Level 2 / ISO 19650 standards
Experience working within an M&E contractor or engineering consultancy environment
