Senior Facades Designer/Engineer
A growing engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Façade Designer / Technician to join their growing London team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a broad range of prestigious projects across the UK, contributing to innovative and high-quality façade solutions from concept through to delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, coordination, and technical detailing of façade packages, working closely with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
This is a hybrid role based in their Central London office, with:
3 days per week in the office
2 days per week working from home
Key Duties:
Produce detailed façade design drawings and technical packages
Develop façade systems from concept through to the construction stage
Coordinate design information with architects, structural engineers, and specialist subcontractors
Prepare and review GA drawings, Fabrication details, Installation drawings, and technical specifications
Support project delivery teams with technical problem-solving
Attend design team meetings and site visits where required
Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, standards, and project requirements
Mentor junior team members where appropriate
Role Requirements:
Proven experience in façade design and detailing within the construction industry
Strong technical understanding of curtain walling, cladding systems, glazing, rainscreen systems, and associated interfaces
Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential
Experience using Revit/BIM is highly desirable
Strong understanding of UK building regulations and façade performance requirements
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent communication and coordination skills
A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving
Relevant qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, Construction, or related discipline
Minimum of 5+ years’ relevant industry experience
