Following an exceptionally strong 2025—marked by major project wins, expansion into new sectors, and the strengthening of several specialist service lines—the Liverpool office is entering a significant phase of investment and growth. As part of this next chapter, there is an opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in shaping the region’s cost management offering, with a clear pathway towards senior leadership.

You’ll be joining a close-knit team within a thriving multidisciplinary consultancy with a well-established presence across industrial, residential, commercial, public buildings, education, healthcare, and bank monitoring sectors. The organisation is known for its progressive culture, commitment to professional development, and long-term career pathways.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking to advance their career while delivering a diverse portfolio of projects, not just delivering into one sector/industry.

You’ll take the lead on cost planning, procurement, and commercial management across all RIBA stages, with the autonomy to manage your own commissions and support the development of junior colleagues. For those working towards chartership, you’ll have structured support; for those already chartered, there is a defined progression route towards Associate and beyond.

Post-Contract

Provide advice on contractual matters and procedures
Value completed works and approve progress payments
Monitor design changes, measure and value variations, and negotiate outcomes
Manage budgets and produce accurate cost reports for clients
Lead the negotiation and agreement of final accounts

Client & Team Leadership

Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting both repeat business and new opportunities
Mentor and support graduates and junior team members
Represent the consultancy professionally across multiple sectors including industrial, residential, commercial, and bank monitoring

Skills & Experience

RICS-accredited degree essential
Ideally chartered (MRICS) or actively working towards chartership
Strong evidence of both pre- and post-contract cost management experience
Excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement routes, and cost management principles
Strong communication, analytical, and numerical skills
Confident in client-facing environments and capable of leading commissions independently
Proactive, organised, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
