We’re currently supporting a fantastic business in the search for an Assistant Estimator to join their growing team, working for a well-established main contractor with a strong reputation across the Midlands construction market.

The business continues to secure a strong pipeline of work across multiple sectors and due to continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their Pre-Construction team with the addition of an Assistant Estimator.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in estimating and pre-construction within a supportive environment that offers structured development and genuine progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions

* Support quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models

* Gather and analyse data relating to labour, materials, and equipment costs

* Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations

* Help maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing information

* Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Design teams throughout the pre-construction process

* Attend site visits and internal meetings where required

* Prepare reports and cost summaries for senior management

* Support value engineering and risk assessment exercises

About You

* Degree, qualification, or training in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline

* Previous construction experience, placement, or internship beneficial

* Strong numerical and analytical skills

* Motivated, proactive, and eager to develop within estimating and pre-construction
