Mechanical Design Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

Producing mechanical building services designs from initial brief through to construction stage
Reviewing specifications, architectural drawings, and room data sheets
Designing mechanical systems including HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, and public health services
Supporting Design & Build projects across commercial building services environments
Coordinating with contract management, estimating, CAD/BIM, and site delivery teams
Conducting site visits, surveys, and attending client and consultant meetings
Presenting technical designs to professional teams and project stakeholders
Ensuring designs comply with current industry regulations and HTM standards
Supporting project delivery teams throughout implementation stages
Working to programme deadlines across multiple projects simultaneously

Requirements

Minimum 10 years’ experience within Mechanical Building Services Design
HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
Strong Design & Build project experience
Excellent knowledge of building services design software packages
Working knowledge of CAD/BIM and Revit advantageous
Good understanding of BMS and control systems
Knowledge of current building regulations and HTM standards
Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
