Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Company
Our client is an expanding construction business backed by a highly successful Healthcare development group, currently building a specialist in-house contracting division focused on technically complex projects.
The business delivers ultra high-end healthcare and medical developments across the South of England, with projects typically ranging between £50m and £70m in value.
With a strong pipeline of secured schemes and long-term investment behind the business, this is an excellent opportunity to join at an exciting stage of growth and play a key role in shaping the commercial function moving forward.
Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong Senior Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for a major £70m Winchester-based healthcare project.
Working closely with operational and leadership teams, you will oversee the commercial management of the scheme from procurement through to final account.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with approximately 1-2 days remote working each week.
Typical duties & responsibilities:
* Commercial management of a major construction project
* Subcontract procurement and package management
* Preparation of valuations and applications for payment
* Cost reporting and forecasting
* Variation management and commercial change control
* Managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts
* Supporting project cashflow and commercial strategy
* Attending client and commercial meetings
* Managing commercial risk and contractual compliance
* Working closely with operational teams to support project delivery
Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Person
* Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within main contracting
* Experience on large-scale projects ideally £20m+
* Ideally experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor
* Healthcare or technically complex M&E project experience beneficial
* Strong contractual and commercial knowledge
* Excellent reporting and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage projects independently
* Good communication and stakeholder management skills
