Project Manager
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager / Senior Site Agent to lead delivery on a major £30m+ pipeline infrastructure scheme stretching approximately 16km between the Coventry and Nuneaton region.
This flagship infrastructure project involves the installation of large-diameter polyethylene pipeline through both rural and complex infrastructure environments, including major road crossings, environmentally sensitive areas, and deep excavation works.
The role is with a highly respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering major utilities, water, highways, and heavy civils projects across the UK. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering technically challenging projects safely, collaboratively, and to the highest standards.
The Role
This is a key leadership position acting as Principal Contractor on site, overseeing a core delivery team including Site Agents, Engineers, Foremen, and operational works teams throughout the duration of the project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programme delivery, stakeholder management, commercial awareness, safety leadership, and operational coordination across multiple work fronts.
This role would suit a strong Tier 1-calibre Project Manager or Senior Site Agent with previous experience delivering major water infrastructure, pipeline, utilities, or heavy civils projects.
Key Responsibilities
Leading day-to-day operational delivery of a major pipeline infrastructure project
Managing Site Agents, Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors, and direct labour teams
Driving programme performance and coordinating multiple work fronts
Overseeing temporary works, deep excavations, and large infrastructure crossings
Managing health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across the scheme
Maintaining strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and project partners
Supporting commercial management, change control, and project reporting
Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification
Utilising digital construction and client management platforms throughout delivery
Requirements
Proven experience delivering major water, utilities, or heavy civils infrastructure projects
Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
Experience working as Principal Contractor on large infrastructure schemes
Good understanding of temporary works, deep excavations, and pipeline installation
Commercial awareness and programme management experience
Experience within water industry infrastructure preferred
