An established and highly regarded construction organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team, delivering high-profile and technically complex projects across a diverse portfolio of sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven professional who is passionate about delivering successful construction outcomes and is looking to play a key role in shaping projects from pre-construction through to final account.

The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial function across one or more projects or key work packages. You will lead commercial strategy, manage project performance, and ensure financial control while working collaboratively with internal teams, clients, and the wider supply chain. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with best practice.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of projects, ensuring all contractual and financial obligations are met
Manage and mentor junior members of the commercial team
Oversee procurement strategies, subcontractor packages, and supply chain engagement
Prepare and submit accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts
Manage valuations, variations, and contractual notices in line with project requirements
Negotiate and agree interim valuations and final accounts with both clients and subcontractors
Maintain strong cashflow performance across projects
Support bid and tender processes, contributing to commercial and delivery strategies
What you need

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector
Strong understanding of both pre- and post-contract commercial management
Experience working on complex construction projects across multiple sectors is highly desirable.
Excellent knowledge of contract forms and commercial best practice
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to lead, influence, and work collaboratively within project teams
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
