Are you an experienced Clerk of Works with a passion for quality, compliance, and delivering exceptional housing projects?
I'm working on behalf of a highly respected construction consultancy client with an outstanding reputation for delivering quality across the built environment. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of residential and regeneration schemes, they are looking to appoint a talented Clerk of Works to join their established Hampshire team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a consultancy that genuinely values technical expertise, professional development, and the role quality assurance plays in successful project delivery. You'll work on a diverse portfolio of residential developments including affordable housing, private rental schemes, and regeneration projects, partnering with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, and private sector clients.
The Opportunity
As Clerk of Works, you'll play a critical role in ensuring construction quality, compliance, and workmanship standards across multiple live projects. Acting as a key link between contractors and clients, you'll help safeguard delivery excellence from site commencement through to completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular site inspections across new build and regeneration housing schemes
Monitor build quality, workmanship, and specification compliance
Produce detailed site reports highlighting progress, defects, and observations
Review drawings and raise technical or design concerns
Ensure works align with Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and industry best practice
Monitor site safety, materials, programme, and contractor performance
Support project teams with snagging, de-snagging, handovers, and defects management
Attend site meetings and provide technical guidance to support successful delivery
What My Client Is Looking For
Proven Clerk of Works / Quality Inspection experience within residential or housing construction
Strong understanding of construction methods, building pathology, and compliance standards
Knowledge of NHBC, Building Control, fire safety, and quality assurance processes
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge and advise where needed
Tech-savvy with the ability to produce accurate digital reports
CSCS Card essential
Organised, proactive, and committed to maintaining exceptional standards
