Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor

£65,000 – £70,000 + Car Allowance + Package
 
Hill McGlynn is pleased to be working with a well-established and reputable main contractor specialising in new build construction projects across the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based out of Maidstone.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Quantity Surveyor looking to progress their career with a successful contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across a range of sectors.
 
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of new build construction projects from inception through to completion. You will work closely with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on budget while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
 
Key Responsibilities

Managing project costs and commercial reporting
Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks
Supporting project delivery teams to ensure financial performance targets are achieved
Maintaining accurate cost records and contractual documentation
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
Experience working on new build construction projects
Strong commercial awareness and contract knowledge
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment
Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred
Full UK driving licence What's on Offer
