A well established architecture and property consultancy is seeking an experienced Design Team Manager to lead and strengthen its growing design division based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior design professional to take on a pivotal leadership role within a busy consultancy, overseeing the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of architectural and rural development schemes throughout the UK. Responsibilities
* Manage, lead and support the design team on a day to day basis
* Coordinate workloads and allocate resources effectively across projects
* Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
* Provide mentoring, guidance and ongoing support to team members
* Collaborate closely with planning and property professionals across the business
* Maintain strong technical and design quality throughout all stages of delivery
* Assist with recruitment, onboarding and staff development activities
* Identify and implement improvements to workflows and project processes
* Act as a senior contact for clients, consultants and internal stakeholders
* Promote a positive and productive team environment
Experience Required
* Degree qualified in Architectural Technology or qualified ARB Architect
* Previous experience leading or managing an architectural or design team
* Strong background within architecture, planning or consultancy sectors
* Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple live projects
* Confident liaising with clients and key stakeholders
* Experience working on rural, residential, agricultural or commercial developments is desirable
* Good understanding of planning processes, design coordination and project delivery
* Commercially minded with strong organisational and problem solving abilities
