Job Description
Role 1: Electrical Tutor
The Electrical Tutor role will focus on delivering classroom and workshop-based training to electrical learners and apprentices.
Duties will include:
* Teaching Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Installation.
* Delivering practical workshop sessions.
* Supporting learners with electrical theory, installation methods and safe working practices.
* Preparing students for City & Guilds / EAL qualifications.
* Assessing practical work in the training centre.
* Supporting learner progress and achievement.
* Maintaining a safe and professional workshop environment.
Role 2: Electrical Assessor
The Training Officer / Assessor role will focus on supporting apprentices in the workplace and helping them complete their NVQ portfolio.
Duties will include:
* Supporting apprentices with their NVQ portfolio.
* Visiting apprentices on-site to review progress and assess practical work.
* Assessing workplace evidence, including photos, job write-ups, test sheets and employer feedback.
* Carrying out apprentice progress reviews every 10–12 weeks.
* Liaising with employers to ensure apprentices are receiving the right work experience and support.
* Providing guidance, mentoring and feedback to apprentices.
* Keeping accurate learner records and assessment documentation.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
* Strong hands-on experience as an electrician.
* Experience across electrical installation work, ideally commercial, domestic or industrial.
* Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification, NVQ or equivalent.
* AM2 or recognised apprenticeship background.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Good communication skills.
* A genuine interest in training, mentoring or supporting apprentices.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, especially for the assessor role.
Salary and Benefits
* Salary: £35,000 – £39,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
* Car allowance: £2,500 after successful completion of 6-month probation.
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
* Pension.

* Full training and support can be provided for the right electrician moving into education.
Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
30-minute lunch break
Some flexibility may be required for the assessor role, as site visits may occasionally need to take place early mornings, evenings or outside standard hours depending on employer requirements.
