A respected commercial property consultancy are looking to appoint a Building Surveyor within their Birmingham team due to increased project demand and continued client growth. The building surveyor will work across a mix of professional and project-led building surveying instructions throughout the Midlands region. This building surveyor opportunity offers exposure to commercial, refurbishment and maintenance projects alongside a wide range of technical surveying work. The successful building surveyor will join a collaborative team environment and gain further experience delivering commercial building surveying services to investor and occupier clients.

The successful Building Surveyor will be joining a national consultancy delivering Building Surveying, Project Management and Property Consultancy services across the commercial property sector. The consultancy works with a varied client base across multiple sectors and continues to expand its Building Surveying offering across the UK.

This Building Surveyor role offers strong client exposure, varied project work and clear opportunities for career development within an experienced multidisciplinary team.

The Role

As the Building Surveyor, you will deliver a broad range of professional and project Building Surveying services across commercial property portfolios.

The role will include:

* Undertaking technical due diligence surveys and condition reports
* Delivering dilapidations instructions for both landlords and tenants
* Preparing planned preventative maintenance schedules and reinstatement cost assessments
* Undertaking contract administration and Employer's Agent duties on refurbishment and repair projects
* Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
* Advising on licences for alterations and neighbourly matters
* Supporting development monitoring instructions for owners, occupiers and funders
* Producing technical reports and client documentation
* Coordinating with internal teams and external consultants throughout project delivery
* Managing workload across multiple Building Surveying instructions
* Supporting business development and client relationship activities

The Building Surveyor?

You will be a motivated and commercially aware individual with experience delivering Building Surveying services within the commercial property market.

The Building Surveyor must have:

* A degree in Building Surveying or relevant property related discipline
* MRICS qualified or currently working towards qualification
* Experience delivering commercial Building Surveying services within the UK property market
* Knowledge of contract administration, technical due diligence and building pathology
* Experience undertaking refurbishment and maintenance projects
* Strong communication and client-facing skills
* Ability to manage workload independently and work within multidisciplinary teams
* Good IT skills with AutoCAD experience beneficial
* Organised approach with strong attention to detail
