Site Manager
Job Title: Site Manager (Permanent)
Location: Nationwide (UK) – Project-based travel required
Salary: £60,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits Package (including Car Allowance)
Sector: Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) / Modular Buildings – Healthcare & Education
About the Client
Our client is an award-winning, market-leading specialist in offsite construction and modern methods of construction (MMC). With over 50 years of industry excellence, they design, manufacture, and deliver high-quality permanent and semi-permanent turnkey modular spaces.
As a tier-one contractor, they deliver highly complex, essential social infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to sustained growth and a strong pipeline of major public-sector frameworks, they are seeking an experienced, proactive Site Manager to lead permanent and temporary builds within their high-profile Healthcare and Education divisions.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of project delivery on-site, managing the transition from factory-built modules to final onsite installation and fit-out. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, typically working on live hospital campuses or educational environments where minimizing disruption is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations on-site to ensure smooth project progression, coordinating sub-contractors, logistics, and internal installation teams.
Oversee complex module installations, groundworks, structural tie-ins, and high-end internal fit-outs.
Maintain a strict health and safety culture, enforcing site rules, conducting tool-box talks, and updating risk assessments (RAMS).
Act as a primary liaison for clients, sub-contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring smooth operations on active, sensitive public-sector sites (e.g., live school terms or high-pressure NHS estates).
Maintain exceptional quality control standards, ensuring the final handover meets the client's stringent specifications.
Manage site administration, including site diaries, progress reports, and material management.
The Ideal Candidate
To excel in this role, you must be a resilient leader with a proven track record of managing construction schemes-ideally with exposure to modern methods of construction (MMC), fast-track modular delivery, or traditional builds within education and health sectors. Because this is a nationwide role, flexibility to travel and stay away from home during project deliveries is essential.
Essential Requirements:
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
CSCS Card (Black / Management preferred)
First Aid at Work (3-day valid certification)
Proven experience managing projects within the Healthcare (NHS/private) and/or Education (schools, colleges, universities) sectors.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience managing projects on "live" sensitive sites.
Strong leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
What's on Offer?
This is a permanent position with an industry leader offering great career stability, clear progression pathways, and exposure to cutting-edge sustainable construction technology.
Base Salary: £60,000
Company Car Allowance
Generous holiday entitlement
Contributory Pension Scheme
Private Healthcare options
Ongoing professional training and career development opportunities
