Overview

Looking for an experienced drylining quantity surveyor to join a London based specialist sub-contractor who have been delivering high quality services for over 35 years. Time will be split between site and office to oversee projects within their drylining division, with values ranging from £50,000 to £4 million.

Outside of drylining, other offered package services include partitioning, plastering, suspended ceilings, carpentry, structural framing and even full fit out packages in some cases. They work with a range of businesses, both Tier 1 and Tier 2, but some of the more notable clients include Laing O'Rourke, BAM, Wates and Mace.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple schemes, ensuring financial control, risk management, and cost certainty across the project lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, and the commercial leads to ensure high quality and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Manage commercial duties across multiple drylining projects and packages.
Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and financial forecasts.
Lead procurement of subcontract packages, including tendering and negotiation.
Assess valuations, variations, and payment applications.
Maintain accurate cost reporting and ensure projects remain within budget.
Support contract administration, including JCT contract management.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assess commercial implications.
Work closely with project teams to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
Prepare final accounts and support project close‑out.
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.Candidate Profile:

Essential Experience

Experience as a Quantity Surveyor at a main contractor overseeing high valued drylining packages. The role is not suitable for surveyor's with exclusive experience in the residential sector. .
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Solid understanding of JCT contracts and commercial processes.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative commercial team.Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent).
Professional accreditation (RICS or working toward it) is beneficial.What's on Offer
