Principal Designer
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Designer to join a growing construction consultancy team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, managing health & safety risks during the pre-construction phase, and supporting the successful delivery of a wide range of residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
* Acting as Principal Designer in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015
* Advising clients on their duties and responsibilities under CDM
* Coordinating health & safety during the pre-construction phase
* Identifying, eliminating, and reducing foreseeable health & safety risks in design
* Liaising with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
* Reviewing and assessing design risk information and construction documentation
* Preparing and managing pre-construction information packs
* Supporting the preparation and review of health & safety files
* Attending design team meetings and site visits where required
* Promoting safe design principles and best practice across projects
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Principal Designer or CDM Consultant
* Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and construction health & safety legislation
* Experience within construction, consultancy, architecture, engineering, or surveying environments
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent desirable
* Membership of APS, IOSH, RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body preferred
* Full UK driving licence preferred
