About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and capable Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to join our client’s growing HSW team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the company’s safety culture and wellbeing initiatives across live projects and operational sites.
Working closely with the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Director and wider operational teams, the role will involve delivering practical, effective HSW advice, monitoring site compliance, conducting inspections, and supporting the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that promote a safe, healthy, and positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities

Support the development, implementation, and review of our client’s Health, Safety & Wellbeing policies, procedures, and initiatives.

Provide competent, practical HSW advice and guidance to operational teams, site staff, and subcontractors.
*
Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks, ensuring findings are documented, reported, and actioned.
*
Assist with the investigation of incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and supporting the implementation of corrective actions.
*
Collaborate with project teams to ensure that risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place and effective.
*
Contribute to the delivery of toolbox talks, safety briefings, inductions, and wellbeing sessions.
*
Monitor and report on HSW KPIs, trends, and performance data, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
*
Support the roll-out of the company’s Buildsmart. Buildsafe. safety programme and wellbeing campaigns.
*
Stay up to date with current health, safety, and wellbeing legislation, guidance, and best practice, sharing insights with the wider team.
*
Promote a proactive, safety-first culture that values openness, teamwork, and care for people.
Skills & Competencies
*
Strong working knowledge of health, safety, and wellbeing practices within the construction or building services sector.
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with site teams, contractors, and clients.
*
Proactive, organised, and detail-focused, with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
*
A collaborative, approachable attitude with a genuine care for people’s welfare.
*
IT-literate and comfortable with reporting, document management, and audit systems.
Qualifications & Experience
*
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) essential.
*
IOSH membership (TechIOSH or higher) desirable.
*
Demonstrable experience in a similar health and safety advisory role, ideally within the construction or M&E services sector.
*
Experience working within a modern, digitally-enabled project environment or on BIM-compliant projects would be advantageous.
*
Incident investigation training (desirable).
