A respected and long standing architecture and property consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Design Team Manager to oversee and develop its expanding design department in Bury St Edmunds. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior design professional to step into a key leadership position within a thriving consultancy, managing the successful delivery of a diverse range of architectural and rural development projects across the UK. Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the design team on a daily basis
* Plan workloads and distribute resources efficiently across projects
* Oversee project delivery to ensure deadlines and quality standards are achieved
* Mentor and support team members with their professional development
* Work closely with planning and property teams throughout the business
* Maintain high levels of technical and design quality across all project stages
* Support recruitment, induction and staff training initiatives
* Review and improve internal processes and project workflows
* Act as a senior point of contact for clients, consultants and colleagues
* Encourage a positive, motivated and high performing team culture

Experience Required
* Degree qualified Architectural Technologist or ARB registered Architect
* Proven experience managing or leading an architectural or design team
* Strong background within architecture, planning or consultancy environments
* Excellent communication, leadership and team management abilities
* Capable of handling multiple projects and shifting priorities effectively
* Comfortable working directly with clients and stakeholders
* Experience within rural, residential, agricultural or commercial sectors would be beneficial
* Good knowledge of planning procedures, project coordination and design delivery
* Commercial awareness with strong organisational and problem solving skills
