Quantity Surveyor
Overview
Looking for an experienced fit out and refurbishment quantity surveyor to join an established, privately owned contractor that's been delivery high quality projects since 1977 across London and Kent. Their project portfolio covers a range of construction criteria across all market sectors including new build schemes, cut and carves, refurbishments and interior fit outs.
They currently have a £120 million super high end cut and carve project that requires a QS. The cut and carve first phase is complete but they need a surveyor to oversee the next phase, which is a £50 million CAT A fit out.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of a £50 million CAT A fit out of a super high end project in Central London, reporting all findings to the commercial director. Key duties will be ensuring financial control, risk management, and cost certainty across the project lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, and the commercial leads to ensure high quality and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commercial duties across multiple drylining projects and packages.
Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and financial forecasts.
Lead procurement of subcontract packages, including tendering and negotiation.
Assess valuations, variations, and payment applications.
Maintain accurate cost reporting and ensure projects remain within budget.
Support contract administration, including JCT contract management.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assess commercial implications.
Work closely with project teams to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
Prepare final accounts and support project close‑out.
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.Candidate Profile:
Essential Experience
Experience as a Quantity Surveyor at a main, fit out or D&B contractor having overseen projects with values over £30 million. Experience on super high end schemes is also beneficial.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Solid understanding of JCT contracts and commercial processes.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative commercial team.Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent).
Professional accreditation (RICS or working toward it) is beneficial.What's on Offer
