Facade Engineer

Facade Engineer

Manchester / North West

£50,000 – £60,000 per annum

Winsearch is proud to partner with a growing cladding and roofing specialist in the North West who are looking to bring in a Facade Engineer to support their expanding pipeline of work.

The business focuses on delivering commercial cladding and roofing packages across the UK, working alongside main contractors and developers. They cover a wide range of façade systems and have built a reputation for delivering projects properly, with a strong emphasis on quality and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move into a more hand-on contractor environment where you're closer to delivery rather than being stuck in a purely design office.

The Role

You’ll be working across multiple projects, supporting from early design stages through to delivery on site.

It’s a varied role, and day-to-day you’ll be:

working on façade and cladding designs across a range of systems
reviewing drawings, specifications and technical details
liaising with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
helping resolve technical issues as projects progress
supporting the coordination between design and on-site delivery
getting involved in surveys, detailing and buildability reviews
You won’t just be passing drawings along. You’ll be involved in making sure what’s designed actually works on site.

What they're looking for

This would suit someone with experience in façade engineering, cladding design or building envelope projects who wants more involvement in the delivery side. Typically, you’ll have:

a background in façade, cladding or building envelope engineering
experience with systems like rainscreen, curtain walling, composite or similar
an understanding of how façade packages are built, not just designed
the ability to read drawings and translate them into practical solutions
some exposure to working with contractors, manufacturers or installers
They’re open to a range of experience levels – the key is having the right mindset and a willingness to be involved across the full project lifecycle.

What's in it for you?

This isn't just a consultancy position- it's being involved in engineering decisions that actually impact how jobs are built with you having the authority to make those choices. You'll be on-site as well as working from the office, so you'll actuially be delivering projects rather than advising on them. You'll be working on different systems and different projects simultaneously. The business is growing, so there's always going to be more room to develop and shape the role as you go.

If you're at a point where you want to move away from purely theoretical design and get closer to how façade projects are actually delivered, this is your chance.
