Our client is a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering complex projects across commercial, utilities, energy, transportation, and public infrastructure sectors throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are now seeking an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

The Role
The successful candidate will support project teams in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across active construction and civil engineering sites.

You will work closely with site management teams, operatives, subcontractors, and senior leadership to promote a positive safety culture while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, company procedures, and client requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a health and safety professional with at least 2 years’ experience looking to further develop their career within a progressive and growing contractor.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the implementation and continuous improvement of company health & safety systems.

* Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and safety reviews.

* Assist with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.

* Promote safe working practices and positive behavioural safety initiatives.

* Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

* Deliver site inductions and support toolbox talks and safety briefings.

* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

* Maintain accurate safety records and site documentation.

* Liaise with site teams, clients, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.

* Assist in preparing reports and supporting management during audits and inspections.

Candidate Requirements

* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, civils, or infrastructure projects.

* Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, Diploma, or equivalent).

* Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and site compliance requirements.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to build positive working relationships across site and management teams.

* Good organisational and reporting skills.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.

* Full driving licence.
