Conrad Consulting is partnering with a leading UK infrastructure and highways contractor to recruit an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in highways, civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities projects who is looking to develop their career within a well-established organisation delivering essential maintenance and improvement works across the UK road network.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and forward-thinking team delivering planned and reactive highway maintenance schemes, working on long-term frameworks and target cost contracts.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of highways projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing, submitting and securing approval for monthly payment applications

Managing commercial administration in accordance with contract requirements

Supporting the delivery of NEC3/NEC4 target cost contracts

Monitoring project costs, forecasts and budgets to ensure financial performance targets are achieved

Producing CVRs, cost reports and commercial performance reviews

Preparing subcontract packages, valuations and final accounts

Managing compensation events, variations and change control procedures

Supporting procurement activities and tender preparation

Working closely with operational and project delivery teams to ensure accurate reporting and cost capture

Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders

Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role

Previous experience within highways, infrastructure or civil engineering projects preferred

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

Good understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and target cost environments

Experience preparing payment applications and commercial reporting/CVRs

Strong analytical and communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Experience with CEMAR or Causeway-CPA would be advantageous
