As the appointed Assistant Site Manager, you’ll support the Site Manager and wider delivery team in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You’ll play a key role in coordinating trades, monitoring progress, maintaining site records, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
This contractor delivers a diverse portfolio including commercial, education, healthcare, and public‑sector schemes, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills across varied and technically interesting projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Support day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring work is completed safely and in line with programme
* Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and site logistics
* Carry out quality checks, snagging, and site inspections
* Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation
* Assist with health and safety compliance, inductions, and toolbox talks
* Work closely with the Site Manager to resolve issues and keep projects on track
* Build strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives
What We’re Looking For
* Experience as an Assistant Site Manager within a main contractor or housing environment
* Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and site coordination
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Proactive approach with the ability to problem‑solve on site
* Valid CSCS card; SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid are beneficial
* Experience across sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, or public buildings is advantageous
