️ THE OPPORTUNITY
We are partnering with a respected Employee-Owned Tier 1 Contractor seeking a Senior Design Manager to join their leadership team in Vancouver or Toronto.
Reporting into senior design leadership, you will play a pivotal role in managing design strategy, guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring project delivery aligns with contractual, technical and commercial objectives.
This is not simply document coordination.
This is full design leadership.
You will influence design philosophy, manage risk and ensure complex projects are delivered through innovative, cost-effective and buildable solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Lead design management across multiple major projects
Develop and guide project design strategy and philosophy
Drive compliance, design quality and contractual performance
Manage design teams and specialist consultants
Coordinate with bid and project execution teams
Lead stakeholder and client engagement throughout the design lifecycle
Manage design risk and identify commercial or contractual variances
Oversee clash detection, BIM coordination and design integration
Ensure deliverables meet programme milestones and quality expectations
Collaborate closely with construction teams to ensure constructability
Negotiate and resolve design and stakeholder issues
Mentor and develop Design Specialists and Coordinators
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
✔️ 15+ years construction or design-related experience
✔️ Minimum 5 years as a Design Manager on major Design-Build projects
✔️ Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
✔️ Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams
✔️ Strong commercial and contractual awareness
✔️ Ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and effectively
✔️ Experience delivering complex projects within major contractor environments
⭐ PREFERRED BACKGROUND
Architecture / Engineering / Related Qualification
LEED / PMP / P.Eng Considered Assets
Level 3 Project Experience
BIM / Revit / Navisworks Experience
Aconex / Revizto Experience Advantageous
Design-Builder / Design-Build Procurement Experience Essential
