A leading UK main contractor is seeking an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join the team on a major flagship development in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the region’s most high-profile construction projects and work alongside an experienced management team on a major build scheme.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day management of site operations, helping to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards of quality.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting the Site Management team with daily site operations
* Assisting in coordinating subcontractors and site activities across the project
* Monitoring works to ensure programme and quality standards are achieved
* Promoting and maintaining high standards of health and safety on site
* Assisting with site inspections, reporting and quality assurance processes
* Helping manage logistics, deliveries and site coordination activities
* Supporting progress meetings and communication with subcontractors and consultants
* Monitoring workmanship and ensuring works are completed in line with specifications
* Assisting with snagging, handover and project close-out activities
* Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience in an Assistant Site Manager or supervisory role within construction
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced site environment
* Eagerness to learn and develop within a leading main contractor environment
* Good understanding of health and safety procedures on construction projects
* Valid CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid qualification preferred
* Relevant construction qualification preferred (HNC, NVQ or equivalent)
* Positive attitude with strong attention to detail and willingness to progress
