Key Responsibilities
1. Plan the work: Check method statements, risk assessments, and permits
2. Prepare equipment: Inspect slings, chains, harnesses, blocks, and rigging gear
3. Erect/dementle structures: Work at height to build scaffolds, rig hoists, or set up cranes
4. Guide loads: Signal to crane operators, control load movement
5. Safety checks: Ensure fall protection, exclusion zones, and rescue plans are in place
6. Maintain gear: Check equipment condition, tag/tag out faulty items
7. LOLER compliance: Ensure equipment is tested/inspected as needed

Requirements – UK 2026
– Quals needed: NVQ Level 3 in Rigging (Construction or Industrial). CPCS/Abrasive or equivalent
– Experience: 2-3 years rigging experience
– Tickets: CSCS card (green or gold), IPAF for MEWP if relevant
– Skills: Work at height, manual handling, problem-solving

Typical day
– Pre-job: Check plans, kit, and permits
– Work: Erect rigging, guide loads, troubleshoot issues
– Post-shift: Store gear, report defects
