Our client is a well-established Retail & Commercial Contractor delivering projects across the UK with values of up to £15 million. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to oversee and maintain health, safety, & high compliance standards of the project.

The project type is a large distribution warehouse and we are looking for candidates that have this type of experience. This role requires a proactive and organised individual with strong knowledge of construction health & safety legislation, who can support site teams, ensure compliance with regulations, and promote a positive safety culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities:

– Overseeing / managing health & safety compliance across the construction site

– Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with current HSE legislation and company policies

– Conducting regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments

– Identifying hazards and implementing appropriate control measures

– Delivering site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings

– Supporting site management and subcontractors to maintain safe working practices

– Investigating incidents, near misses, and accidents and producing detailed reports

– Monitoring subcontractor compliance with health & safety procedures

– Maintaining accurate safety documentation and records

– Liaising with site management, clients, and regulatory bodies when required

Requirements:

– Proven experience in a Construction Health & Safety Manager or Site Manager equivalent within construction or fit-out projects

– NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent (desirable)

– Valid CSCS Card (required)

– SMSTS or equivalent training (required)

– 1st Aid at Work Certificate (required)

– Strong knowledge of UK construction health & safety legislation and best practice

– Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
