Hybrid – Head Office (Warrington) & Site-Based

Salary & Benefits

£70,000 basic salary (open to negotiation for the perfect candidate)
£6,900 car allowance or company car option
10% annual performance bonus

About the Opportunity

Our client are expanding their delivery team and are recruiting four experienced Solar Installation Project Managers based in the North West of England to support a growing pipeline of commercial solar PV projects across the UK.

These roles are central to delivering high-quality renewable energy installations from contract award through to commissioning and handover. You will take full ownership of project delivery across design, procurement, construction, grid connection, and commercial performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

Project Delivery & Programme Management

Lead end-to-end delivery of commercial solar PV projects (rooftop, ground-mount, carports)
Develop and manage detailed project programmes and critical paths
Coordinate design, procurement, and construction activities
Track milestones, manage risks, and ensure on-time delivery
Oversee commissioning and client handover
Commercial & Financial Management

Own project budgets, forecasting, and cost control
Review subcontractor quotations and issue purchase orders
Manage variations, change orders, and commercial risk
Report financial performance to senior leadership
Grid & Compliance Coordination

Support DNO applications and grid connections (G98/G99)
Ensure compliance with planning, building control, and regulatory requirements
Maintain adherence to MCS standards and BS 7671 regulations
Manage commissioning approvals and energisation processes
Stakeholder & Contractor Management

Appoint and manage subcontractors and suppliers
Lead site meetings and client progress reviews
Liaise with DNOs and external stakeholders
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Health, Safety & Quality

Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations 2015
Review and approve RAMS and site documentation
Conduct site inspections, audits, and pre-start meetings
Maintain high QA/QC standards across all projects
Ensure safe and compliant project delivery at all times

What We’re Looking For

Essential

3–5+ years’ project management experience in solar, renewables, or electrical construction
Strong understanding of UK commercial solar PV systems
Proven experience managing subcontractors and multi-site delivery
Working knowledge of DNO processes (G98/G99)
Strong skills in MS Project, Excel, and project management tools
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
Desirable

SMSTS qualification
IOSH or NEBOSH certification
Electrical background (18th Edition advantageous)
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Experience with battery storage or EV charging infrastructure
