Project Manager – Civil Engineering / Infrastructure

We’re working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects across the South West and Gloucestershire regions, with ongoing framework opportunities and repeat work secured.

They are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take full ownership of a major infrastructure scheme, with further follow-on projects likely thereafter.

The Role

This position would suit a hands-on Project Manager with a strong engineering background who is comfortable leading schemes from both an operational and commercial standpoint.

Key responsibilities include:

* Full ownership and delivery of the programme

* Management of client relationships and key stakeholders

* Contract administration under both JCT and NEC contracts

* Close collaboration with the commercial team on forecasting, compensation events and early warnings

* Overall responsibility for Health & Safety, QA and RAMS reviews

* Production and presentation of monthly progress reports

* Coordination and management of site delivery teams

This is not a typical “desk-based” Tier 1 PM role — the successful candidate will need to be proactive, visible on site and capable of adapting programmes to suit engineering and operational challenges.

Project Scope

Current works include:

* New roundabout construction on an existing A-road

* Multiple car park packages

* Woodland footpath and public realm works

* Significant drainage packages up to 5m deep

* Retaining wall construction

* Directional drilling works

Candidate Requirements

* Proven experience delivering £8m+ infrastructure or civils projects

* Strong Design & Build experience highly desirable

* Engineering background preferred

* Good understanding of NEC and JCT contracts

* Strong planning, coordination and reporting capability

* Comfortable taking full project ownership

Essential / Desirable Tickets

* SMSTS

* CSCS

* Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)

* First Aid at Work

* NRSWA (advantageous)

Expired tickets are not a dealbreaker as refresher training can be provided.

Salary

Circa £60,000 – £80,000+ depending on experience, capability and track record
