An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and highly respected Tier 2 Main Contractor that has experienced significant growth over recent years and continues to secure high-profile projects across London and the South East.

My client has built an enviable reputation for delivering complex refurbishment, cut-and-carve, commercial, hotel, residential and mixed-use schemes for a range of prestigious clients. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are now seeking a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial responsibility for a landmark £30m Hotel Cut & Carve Refurbishment project in Central London.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, this role will suit an individual who is confident operating autonomously and has the capability to lead the commercial function on a major project with minimal day-to-day support.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the overall commercial management of the project from inception through to final account.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Full commercial ownership of a £30m Hotel Cut & Carve Refurbishment project

* Procurement and management of subcontractor packages

* Preparation and submission of valuations and applications for payment

* Cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management

* Management of variations and change control

* Negotiation and agreement of final accounts

* Commercial risk management and value engineering

* Providing accurate commercial reporting to the Commercial Director

* Working closely with project delivery teams to maximise project performance and profitability

Candidate Requirements

* Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a Main Contractor

* Previous experience delivering new build, refurbishment, cut-and-carve, commercial, hotel or complex building projects

* Strong commercial acumen and ability to independently manage large-scale projects

* Experience managing projects valued in excess of £15m

* Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills

* Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

* Stable employment history

Essential

Candidates must currently work, or have previously worked, for a Tier 2 or Tier 3 Main Contractor.

This position requires an individual who can confidently stand on their own two feet, make commercial decisions, and take full ownership of the project's commercial performance.
