The Role

A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking a Design Manager / Senior Design Manager to support the delivery of a major Ministry of Justice project in Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate the design process across all project stages.
Lead multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, and specialist subcontractors.
Ensure design information is delivered in accordance with programme requirements.
Review design deliverables for quality, compliance, and buildability.
Chair design coordination meetings and manage technical queries.
Liaise with client, construction, commercial, and planning teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Identify and mitigate design-related risks and support value engineering initiatives.
Monitor design progress and report on key project milestones.

Requirements

Experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager within a Tier 1 main contractor environment.
Proven track record delivering large-scale construction projects.
Strong understanding of design management, technical coordination, and project delivery.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to work within complex and highly regulated project environments.

Desirable

Previous Ministry of Justice (MoJ) or Ministry of Defence (MoD) project experience.
Experience delivering secure, custodial, defence, or public sector projects.
BPSS and EL1 clearance, or eligibility to obtain clearance.
