About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our team on a large scale mixed use development comprising residential apartments, commercial units, retail spaces, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical building services installations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills and extensive experience coordinating mechanical works across both residential and commercial environments.
Mechanical Supervisor Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate all mechanical building services installations, including HVAC, plumbing, public health, ventilation, and associated pipework systems.
* Manage site-based mechanical operatives and subcontractors to ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications and programme requirements.
* Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures, and project-specific requirements.
* Monitor installation quality and conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with design and industry standards.
* Coordinate mechanical activities with electrical, architectural, structural, and fit-out teams.
* Attend site coordination meetings and provide progress updates to project management.
* Identify and resolve technical and installation issues to minimise programme delays.
* Support commissioning, testing, snagging, and handover activities.
* Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress tracking, and quality documentation.
* Assist in planning labour requirements and material deliveries to maintain project schedules.
Mechanical Supervisor Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor within residential, commercial, or mixed use construction projects.
* Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, domestic water services, drainage, and ventilation.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation details.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Strong knowledge of construction health and safety regulations and best practices.
* Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades on site.
* Relevant mechanical trade qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent industry experience.
* Valid CSCS Card.
* SSSTS certification (minimum requirement).
