Freelance Site Engineer

Location: Warwickshire

Contract: Freelance | Immediate Start | Kit Required

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a £30m structural steel frame development in Warwickshire.

This role is ideally suited to a Site Engineer from a groundworks or civil engineering background with experience delivering projects from substructure through to steel frame and superstructure.

Please note: This role requires engineers to supply their own setting out equipment. Applications without kit will not be considered.

The Project

·         £30m commercial/industrial scheme

·         Structural steel frame construction

·         Extensive groundworks, drainage, and external works

·         Fast-paced programme with ongoing phases

The Role

You will be responsible for engineering duties across both groundworks and steel frame phases, ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely, and in line with programme.

Key Responsibilities

·         Setting out for foundations, drainage, and earthworks

·         Setting out holding down bolts and steel frame gridlines

·         Setting out slabs, columns, and structural elements

·         QA, ITPs, and as-built surveys

·         Checking line, level, and tolerances for steel frame installation

·         Interpreting technical drawings

·         Raising and managing RFIs

·         Liaising with subcontractors including groundworks and steel frame teams

·         Supporting programme delivery and sequencing

·         Ensuring health and safety compliance

Requirements

·         Proven experience as a Site Engineer within groundworks or civil engineering

·         Previous experience on large-scale or steel frame projects

·         Strong setting out skills (Leica, Trimble, or Topcon)

·         Own kit essential

·         CSCS Card

·         Full UK Driving Licence

·         Available to start immediately
