An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established residential developer delivering high-quality housing projects across Scotland. This role offers the chance to work on a range of developments from inception through to final account while supporting the commercial success of multiple sites.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project costs, procurement activities, subcontractor accounts, and financial reporting to ensure developments are delivered within budget and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the commercial aspects of residential housing developments.
Preparing and reviewing budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
Procuring subcontractors and suppliers in line with project requirements.
Valuing subcontractor applications and agreeing final accounts.
Producing monthly cost reports and financial updates.
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
Supporting site teams with contractual and commercial matters.
Monitoring project expenditure and ensuring cost control procedures are followed.
Assisting with cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
Requirements
Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within housebuilding or residential construction.
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
Experience managing subcontractor procurement and payments.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial management systems.
Full UK driving licence.
