Estimating Manager – Cladding and Roofing
We are currently working with a well-established and highly respected roofing and cladding contractor based in Norwich that is looking to appoint an experienced Estimating Manager to join its senior team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded estimating professional to take ownership of the estimating function, combining hands-on tendering responsibilities with the leadership and development of an established team.
The Role
As Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for managing the estimating department while remaining actively involved in the preparation and submission of tenders. You will play a key role in securing new business, driving commercial success and ensuring the delivery of accurate, competitive bids.
Working closely with directors, clients and operational teams, you will help shape tender strategy and support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and developing the estimating team
* Preparing and reviewing tenders for roofing and cladding projects
* Allocating workload and ensuring tender deadlines are achieved
* Reviewing drawings, specifications and project documentation
* Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions
* Supporting business development and maintaining client relationships
* Producing accurate cost plans and pricing submissions
* Contributing to tender strategy and bid success
About You
To be considered for this position, you must have:
* Proven estimating experience within the roofing and cladding industry
* Strong technical knowledge of roofing and cladding systems
* Previous management or team leadership experience, or the ability to step into a leadership role
* Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
* The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A proactive approach with a focus on delivering results
