We are currently partnering with a leading infrastructure consultancy that is looking to strengthen its South West team with the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Exeter.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working across a varied infrastructure portfolio and is looking to join a business that offers genuine flexibility, strong career development opportunities and exposure to some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.

My client has an established presence across the UK and is continuing to grow its South West operation, with a strong pipeline of work across the Rail, Highways and wider Infrastructure sectors.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the commercial delivery of projects ranging from nationally significant infrastructure programmes through to regional transport and utility schemes.

The business actively encourages exposure to different sectors and clients, providing an opportunity to broaden your experience rather than becoming tied to a single framework or project type.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leading pre and post-contract commercial activities
NEC contract administration and commercial management
Cost planning, forecasting and reporting
Managing compensation events and change control
Providing commercial advice to clients and project teams
Managing stakeholder relationships
Supporting and mentoring junior team members
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities

About You

My client is keen to speak with commercially driven professionals who can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

To be considered, you should have:

Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure projects
Strong NEC contract experience (NEC3 or NEC4)
A background within sectors such as Highways, Rail, Water, Utilities or Major Infrastructure
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
The ability to manage projects and workload autonomously
A proactive approach and strong attention to detailCandidates may come from a consultancy, contractor or client-side background.

Chartered status is desirable, although individuals actively working towards chartership are equally encouraged to apply.

Why Join?

One of the key attractions of this opportunity is the culture. My client offers the flexibility and work-life balance often difficult to find elsewhere in the industry, while still providing access to high-profile projects and clear career progression.

Benefits include:

Hybrid and flexible working arrangements (2/3 days in the office or on client site)
Private medical insurance
Enhanced pension scheme (Up to 10% employer contribution with 5% from employee)
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Fully funded training and professional development

Exposure to multiple infrastructure sectors and clients
Collaborative, supportive team environment with no micromanagement culture

Location

The position is based in Exeter with a hybrid working model, combining office, home and client-site working. Candidates should ideally be within reasonable commuting distance of Exeter, although relocation will be considered for the right individual.

If you're a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a role that offers project variety, flexibility and long-term career development within a growing infrastructure team, I'd be happy to discuss the opportunity in more detail.
