An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing and ambitious organisation operating within the construction products, health & safety, and specialist solutions sector.
This role offers the chance to play a key part in driving business growth, developing new client relationships, and securing opportunities across a variety of sectors including construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, facilities management, and the public sector.
We are seeking a motivated sales professional with experience selling construction products, safety solutions, PPE, health & safety services, building materials, or related products into commercial and industrial markets.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while building long-term relationships with key decision-makers across your territory.
Key responsibilities include:
Identifying and developing new business opportunities
Building relationships with contractors, developers, facilities managers, local authorities, and end users
Generating and managing a strong sales pipeline
Conducting client meetings, presentations, and site visits
Preparing proposals, quotations, and commercial agreements
Working closely with internal teams to ensure excellent customer delivery
Attending industry exhibitions, networking events, and trade shows
Maintaining CRM records and producing regular sales reports
Achieving and exceeding agreed sales targets
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Proven experience in a Business Development Manager, Area Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, or Account Manager role
Experience selling construction products, building materials, health & safety products, PPE, compliance services, industrial products, or related solutions
Strong track record of generating new business and developing accounts
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sales
Strong commercial awareness
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
Experience selling into construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, utilities, or facilities management sectors
Knowledge of health & safety legislation, compliance products, or workplace safety solutions
Experience using CRM systems
Understanding of tendering and framework opportunities

* £35,000 – £45,000 basic salary DOE

Working Hours
* 37.5 hours per week
