Senior Quantity Surveyor

Senior Quantity Surveyor sought, Exeter / Taunton. Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career with a major UK construction and engineering business? We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established project delivery team based in either Exeter or Taunton, working between Plymouth and Bristol as needed. Daily resp.’

* Managing the commercial performance of multiple projects.

* Preparing and submitting applications for payment and valuations.

* Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts.

* Producing cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

* Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.

* Supporting contract negotiations and dispute resolution where required.

* Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

* Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members.

About You

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, engineering, M&E, infrastructure, or related sectors.

* Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC and/or JCT.

* Excellent commercial acumen and financial management skills.

* Experience managing subcontractor accounts and client-facing commercial activities.

* Strong negotiation and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).

* Membership of RICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
