The Opportunity

I'm currently working in partnership with a well-established and growing main contractor based in Lincolnshire who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key role within a business that has a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, offering both stability and the chance to make a genuine impact. The company operates across a diverse portfolio of projects, typically ranging in value from £500k to £5m, delivered through competitive tenders, framework agreements, and their own developments.
You'll be joining a close-knit commercial team of 10, with a strong, supportive culture and the opportunity to influence how the team continues to develop.

The Role
As a Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring commercial success and effective cost control.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing the commercial delivery of multiple construction projects
Preparing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and payments
Overseeing contractual administration (JCT experience advantageous)
Monitoring project performance and reporting on cost/value
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team (if stepping into Managing QS level)
Contributing ideas and improvements to processes and team performance

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
Ability to manage projects independently (Senior level) or lead across multiple projects/teams (Managing QS level)
Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes
Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
A proactive approach and willingness to contribute to team improvements
Full UK driving licence
