General Manager
Lead. Grow. Make Your Mark.
This is not a role for someone looking to maintain the status quo.
This is an opportunity to lead a highly respected, internationally recognised specialist business operating at the forefront of industrial flooring consultancy, surveying, testing, and technical innovation.
Our expertise supports some of the world's largest logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, retail, and automation businesses. Trusted across more than 20 countries, we are recognised as leaders in a highly specialised field where technical excellence, independence, and innovation are critical.
We're looking for an ambitious, commercially driven General Manager who wants to take ownership of a successful business and help drive its next phase of growth, based at our Huddersfield site.
Why Join Us?

· Work alongside industry experts and specialist technical teams.
· Enjoy genuine autonomy to influence strategy, performance, and growth.
· Be part of a larger international group with significant resources and support.
· Shape the future of a business operating within the fast-growing logistics, warehousing, and automation sectors.
This is a role where your leadership will have a visible impact.
The Opportunity
Reporting to senior group leadership, you will take full responsibility for the operational, commercial, and strategic performance of the business.
You'll lead specialist technical and support teams, drive revenue growth, strengthen client relationships, oversee service delivery, and identify opportunities for innovation and expansion.
Success in this role requires a leader who can combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, balancing commercial performance with technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the overall performance and growth of the business.
· Develop and implement business plans, budgets, and growth strategies.
· Drive revenue, profitability, and commercial success.
· Lead, motivate, and develop technical and office-based teams.
· Build relationships with key clients, developers, contractors, logistics operators, and industry stakeholders.
· Oversee operational delivery, quality, compliance, and health & safety.
· Represent the business at industry events, client meetings, and professional forums.
· Work closely with group leadership to support future growth and international opportunities.
About You
You are an ambitious, resilient, and results-oriented leader who thrives on responsibility and enjoys building high-performing teams.
You'll bring:
· Proven leadership experience within a technical, engineering, consultancy, surveying, testing, construction, or related environment.
· Strong commercial acumen with experience managing business performance and growth.
· Experience leading operational teams and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
· Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
· A strategic mindset combined with a practical, hands-on approach.
· A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
Experience within industrial flooring, warehousing, logistics, automation, or specialist technical services would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Person
We're looking for someone who is:
· Ambitious and growth-focused.
· Commercially astute.
· Resilient and accountable.
· A strong communicator and leader.
· Driven to improve, innovate, and deliver results.
Most importantly, you're excited by the opportunity to lead a respected specialist business, drive its future success, and leave a lasting impact.
If you're ready to take ownership, lead from the front, and accelerate the growth of a world-class business, we'd love to hear from you.
