We are currently partnering with a growing renewable energy and heat pump specialist to recruit a Service Manager to lead and develop their aftersales and maintenance division.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced service professional to join a business operating at the forefront of the UK's transition to low-carbon heating. The Role
As Service Manager, you will take ownership of the company's service and maintenance department, ensuring the efficient delivery of planned maintenance, reactive support, commissioning assistance, and warranty services.
You will lead a team of field engineers while acting as the key link between customers, technical teams, and senior management.
Key responsibilities include:
Service Operations
Managing the day-to-day operation of the service department
Coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
Overseeing reactive service and breakdown response activities
Managing engineer workloads and resource planning
Ensuring service KPIs and response times are achieved
Team Leadership
Leading, mentoring, and developing service engineers
Supporting recruitment and onboarding of new engineers
Delivering performance reviews and development plans
Promoting a strong customer-focused culture
Customer & Technical Support
Acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues
Supporting customers through warranty and service-related matters
Maintaining strong client relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction
Working closely with installation teams to ensure smooth project handovers
Compliance & Quality
Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations
Maintaining service standards and technical procedures
Monitoring service quality and implementing continuous improvements
Supporting manufacturer accreditation and training requirements
Commercial Performance
Managing service contracts and maintenance agreements
Identifying opportunities for additional service revenue
Supporting the growth of aftermarket and maintenance offerings
Monitoring departmental budgets and operational performance
The Candidate
We are looking for a technically capable and commercially aware service professional with experience within renewable energy, HVAC, or heating services.
Essential:
Currently a Service Manager or similar
Experience with heat pump commissioning and fault finding
Knowledge of renewable heating technologies
Technical qualification in engineering, heating, or building services
Experience managing service contracts and warranty processes
The Package
Salary £50,000 to £60,000
