🔍 Job Description:

We’re working with a Tier 1 main contractor with a strong presence in the Reading and Oxfordshire region, seeking a dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. With several key projects now live and more due to start in 2025, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-value schemes across sectors such as education, commercial, and residential 🏫🏢🏘️.

You'll be a vital part of the project team, overseeing commercial activities from pre-construction through to final account, while working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

📊 Manage cost planning, forecasting, and reporting across assigned projects

📑 Oversee subcontractor procurement, variations, and final accounts

*

🤝 Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants

*

💼 Support contract administration and ensure adherence to commercial procedures

*

👥 Assist in mentoring junior members of the commercial team

*

⚖️ Contribute to risk management, value engineering, and commercial strategy

✅ Requirements:

🎓 Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline

*

🏗️ Minimum 5 years' experience with a main contractor

*

💼 Proven track record of managing projects independently or as lead QS

*

📍 Comfortable working across sites in Reading, Oxford, and surrounding areas

*

💬 Strong communication and negotiation skills
