We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join a multi-billion-pound infrastructure programme that will shape the future of the UK's transport network. This flagship project encompasses large-scale heavy civil engineering works, including highways construction, major structures, drainage networks, earthworks, and associated infrastructure.

The Role

As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of major construction packages, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

– Setting out and surveying works using modern surveying equipment and GPS technology.
– Managing and overseeing construction activities across highways, structures, drainage, and heavy civils packages.
– Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
– Producing and maintaining accurate site records, as-built information, and quality documentation.
– Supporting subcontractors and site teams to achieve programme milestones.
– Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
– Identifying and resolving technical issues on site in collaboration with design and construction teams.
– Assisting with quality assurance processes, inspections, and testing activities.
– Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

– A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
– Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure, highways, heavy civils, or structural projects.
– Strong setting-out and surveying capabilities.
– Experience working with drainage systems, reinforced concrete structures, earthworks, and highway construction.
– Excellent understanding of construction methods, specifications, and engineering standards.
– Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
– CSCS card as a minimum requirement.
– Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

– Experience on major projects valued at £100m+.
– Temporary works awareness.
– Knowledge of BIM and digital engineering tools.
– Membership of a professional institution such as ICE or progress towards chartership
