The Opportunity

The Shore Group are a multi-service, sector-driven business, seeking a Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercials on our £10million, 10-storey student accommodation scheme in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to join the project at a key stage – preconstruction has just completed, procurement is underway, and construction is due to commence July 2026, with an anticipated 18-month programme. You will report to the Project Manager and play a pivotal role in the commercial management of the scheme, helping to drive value and support successful project delivery under a Construction Management contract.

You MUST have experience working at Quantity Surveyor level on a multi-storey Residential or Student Accommodation block, preferably valued in excess of £7million.

Role Overview

* Manage the commercial aspects of a £10mil live construction scheme

* Support ongoing and remaining procurement packages

* Cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control

* Valuations, variations, and final accounts

* Work closely with the project and site teams to ensure commercial success

Key Details

* Site-based role in Exeter, typically 5 days per week

* Occasional remote working flexibility available

About You

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry

* Strong commercial acumen and contract knowledge

* clear communication, contractor coordination, budget control, and stakeholder management.

* Proactive, collaborative, and able to manage multiple workstreams
