JL Renewables are recruiting for an experienced Project Planner to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major National Grid transmission and substation projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing energy division with a strong pipeline of secured work supporting critical UK energy infrastructure.
We are specifically seeking candidates with previous National Grid substation experience. Applicants without transmission or substation project exposure are unlikely to be considered.
The Role
Reporting into the Planning Manager, you will support the development, maintenance and management of project programmes across major HV substation and transmission projects.
Working closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, Commercial Teams and Clients, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are planned, monitored and delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Primavera P6 project programmes.
*
Produce and update construction schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Monitor progress against programme baselines.
*
Assist with programme reporting and performance analysis.
*
Identify programme risks and support mitigation planning.
*
Support programme recovery and change management activities.
*
Attend project progress meetings and planning reviews.
*
Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure programme accuracy.
*
Review subcontractor programmes and monitor progress.
*
Produce look-ahead programmes and critical path analysis.
Essential Requirements
*
Experience as a Project Planner within the Power, Utilities or Infrastructure sectors.
*
Previous National Grid substation experience.
*
Experience working on transmission and distribution infrastructure projects.
*
Strong Primavera P6 capability.
*
Understanding of construction planning principles.
*
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Experience
*
132kV, 275kV or 400kV substation projects.
*
National Grid framework experience.
*
NEC contract knowledge.
*
Transmission & Distribution project experience.
*
Exposure to project controls and reporting.
