Quantity surveyor

We are working on behalf of a specialist contractor in the passive fire protection sector to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute individual to take full ownership of the commercial function across a range of high-profile projects. The Role:
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of commercial duties across all projects. The role is based in modern offices in Salford Quays, with regular travel to sites.
Key Responsibilities:
* Full commercial management of all projects
* Supporting and reviewing contract terms alongside the MD
* Preparing valuations and interim applications for payment
* Agreement of final accounts
* Analysing operative productivity and forecasting project profitability
* Managing change control, variations, and compensation events
* Reviewing and processing contracts, purchase orders, and payment notifications
* Handling self-billing agreements, remittances, and VAT receipts
* Developing commercial processes and improving systems
* Site visits and client engagement
* Mitigating commercial risks and managing contractual correspondence
* Supporting dispute resolution where required
About You:
You’ll be proactive, self-motivated, and commercially focused, with strong communication and negotiation skills. You will have a high attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
* 3–5 years' experience in a construction environment
* Working towards or already holding MRICS
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
* Experience with Xero accounting software (training can be provided)

* £40,000 – £50,000 salary DOE
